Crowns & Power is a two hour guided walking tour of Westminster, the square mile of London where the monarchy and the government have sat side by side for a thousand years. Starting on Westminster Bridge and finishing in Trafalgar Square, the route takes in Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Whitehall and Downing Street.

Times shown are for the 10:00 start. The 14:00 walk follows exactly the same route four hours later.

    Meet your guide by the river for the story of the Thames and the most famous clock tower in the world.

  2. 10:20 · Houses of Parliament

    A thousand years of democracy, the Gunpowder Plot and the great fire that reshaped the old palace.

  3. 10:45 · Westminster Abbey

    Coronations, royal weddings and Poets' Corner, told from the steps of Britain's grandest church.

  4. 11:05 · Churchill War Rooms & King Charles Street

    Step back to wartime London and the secret bunker beneath the city's grandest government street.

  5. 11:25 · Horse Guards & the Banqueting House

    The historic parade ground of the royal household cavalry, and the Banqueting House across Whitehall where a king once met his fate.

  6. 11:45 · Downing Street to Trafalgar Square

    Finish beneath Nelson's Column after passing the most famous front door in the country.

Good to know before you book

Where and when do the walking tours start?
Each tour has a central London meeting point shared in your booking confirmation: Westminster Bridge for Crowns & Power and Southwark Cathedral for Thames & Towers. Both tours run twice a day, with a 10:00 morning start and a 14:00 afternoon start. Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can set off on time.
How long are the tours and how far do we walk?
Each tour lasts around two hours at a relaxed, sociable pace with plenty of stops to listen, look and take photos. The total distance is gentle and easily manageable for most people.
What's included in the price?
A friendly, knowledgeable local guide and a carefully planned route packed with history and heritage. Any optional attraction entry, food and drinks are not included.
Which days can I book?
Our walking tours run every day of the week. Simply pick the date and either the 10:00 or 14:00 start in the booking calendar for your chosen tour.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour for a full refund. After that you're welcome to transfer your booking to another date or person.
