Peak District Day Trip from London: Mam Tor & Bakewell

This Peak District day trip from London is a 12 hour guided day trip from central London to the Peak District. Travelling by comfortable coach, we visit Castleton village, walk the famous Mam Tor ridge, stop in Hope Valley and finish in Bakewell before returning to London.

The day, stop by stop

Times shown are for the 07:00 departure from Victoria Station.

  1. 06:30 · Meet at Victoria Station

    Check in with your guide and board the coach for the journey north. A quick coffee stop is planned en route.

  2. 07:00 · Depart London

    Leave the city behind for a scenic drive of around three hours through the English countryside.

  3. 10:00 · Castleton Village

    Arrive in this traditional Derbyshire village for photos, a coffee stop and an introduction to Peak District culture and medieval history.

  4. 11:30 · Mam Tor Walk

    Walk the famous ridge for 45 to 60 minutes, taking in Bronze Age landscapes, ancient geology and some of the best views in England.

  5. 13:00 · Hope Valley

    Pause for photo stops across a landscape of farming history, dry stone walls and Derbyshire villages.

  6. 14:30 · Bakewell

    Finish in this historic market town, famous for Bakewell pudding, local heritage and independent shops. Time for lunch and exploring before the return journey.

  7. 17:00 · Return to London

    Board the coach for the journey back to Victoria Station, arriving around 19:00 depending on traffic.

Good to know before you book

Where and when do the tours start?
Each tour has a central London meeting point shared in your booking confirmation. Westminster and City of London walks start at 10:00 or 14:00. Hidden London and Secret Waterways walks also start at 10:00 or 14:00. The Peak District day trip meets at 06:30 at Victoria Station and departs at 07:00. Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can set off on time.
How long are the tours and how far do we walk?
Westminster and City of London walks last around 1.5 hours. Hidden London and Secret Waterways walks last around 2 hours. All walks are at a relaxed, sociable pace with plenty of stops. The Peak District day trip lasts 12 hours and includes a 45 to 60 minute hill walk.
What is included in the price?
A friendly, knowledgeable local guide and a carefully planned route packed with history and heritage. For the Peak District day trip, return coach travel from London is also included. Any optional attraction entry, food and drinks are not included.
Which days can I book?
Our London walking tours run every day of the week from 22 August 2026. The Peak District day trip runs every Saturday from September 2026. Simply pick the date and start time in the booking calendar for your chosen tour.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
For London walking tours, free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour for a full refund. For the Peak District day trip, free cancellation up to 72 hours before departure. If we cancel a day trip because the minimum number of bookings is not reached or due to severe weather, you will receive a full refund.
